Your 30's

Skin suppleness begins to fade

Suppleness of the skin begins to fade

Skin Care in Your 30's

As we enter our thirties, we start to lose some of the suppleness of the skin that we had in our 20s. Crows feet start to appear around our eyes, frown lines and forehead wrinkles get deeper, and we start to notice more lines around our mouth. Sun damage may begin to appear in the late thirties as well. The thirties are still a good time for prevention, as you can catch lines and wrinkles before they start to deepen too much. The Skin Clinics offers many treatments for the prevention and correction of skin problems you may experience well into your thirties.

Wrinkle Care with Neuromodulators

Skin Care in Your 30's

Neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin may be a good option for wrinkle care and prevention into your thirties. Wrinkles are just beginning to deepen and become noticeable, so a treatment like Botox can both prevent further deepening of wrinkles with your skin as well as take care of existing ones. Botox works by disrupting the nerve signals which cause muscles to contract, thus preventing wrinkles from forming and relaxing the muscles to smooth out existing wrinkles. You don’t need to worry about your facial expressions being frozen!

Smoothing Frown Lines and Laugh Lines

Skin Care in Your 30's

Frown lines are those lines between your eyebrows which are caused by everyday expressions like smiling and frowning. These lines are some of the first to become deep and noticeable in your thirties, as the muscles which cause them are constantly contracting in response to facial expressions. Laugh lines are the lines which run from the sides of your mouth to the sides of your nose, and also become deeper in the thirties due to constant muscle contraction.

Injectable Treatments
Botox is good for prevention for someone in their thirties of further wrinkles and smoothing the expression, but if your lines are especially deep or you don’t want to use Botox, a dermal filler such as Restylane might be good for you. Restylane and Restylane Silk are dermal fillers made from hyaluronic acid which can specifically target deep wrinkles such as frown lines and laugh lines. Restylane provides instant results which can last from six months to a year.

Fine Lines Treatment

Fine lines such as crow’s feet require a delicate touch. Belotero is a dermal filler designed to provide natural, smooth results, and can be used even around the delicate eye area to smooth fine lines and under eye circles. Belotero results are very natural-looking, and no one will be able to tell you’ve had work done.

Laser treatments for someone in their thirties such as the Exilis Ultra can also be used to soften fine lines. Gentle laser treatments can smooth fine lines in just a few sessions, and can be used to treat sun damage and uneven skin tone as well.

Sun Damage

Sun damage can start to appear well into the thirties, especially if you haven’t been protecting your skin properly from UV rays in your thirties. If you start to notice dark spots appearing on your skin, consult your dermatologist to make sure that they are not the beginnings of skin cancer. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a good treatment for precancerous lesions if caught early enough.

Sun Spot Treatments
Sun spots can be treated in a variety of ways, including laser treatments, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion. In the thirties, sun spots should be just starting to appear, so aggressive treatments such as CO2 lasers may not be needed. We will discuss your sun spots and the best treatment for them during your consultation. Depending on how many, how dark, and how big the spots are, different treatments for those in their thirties may be recommended.

No matter what your age, it’s never too late to start wearing sunscreen every day! Sunscreen can help protect against harmful UV rays from the sun, and it’s important to wear it every day for those in their thirties, not just to the beach or the pool.
